Vidya Bhawan's nature interpretation and education centre.
Nature lovers and scholars have a new destination to experience the raw jungle life! Less than 10 kilometers north of Udaipur, the city of lakes, in southern Rajasthan; a forest has been preserved in its natural glory. Hills, ravines, caves, water bodies, shrubs, herbs and age old trees of the dry deciduous jungle are all part of the Vidya Bhawan Prakriti Sadhana Kendra (VBPSK). From insects to reptiles, from langoors to leopards and from amphibians to birds, the life of a jungle can be experienced in the 400-acres (1.6 square kilometers) of forest area. Vidya Bhawan has preserved this area for six decades now. In the new millennium, 'Padma Bhushan' Prof. Jagat S. Mehta, former President of Vidya Bhawan Society and former Foreign Secretary of India, donated about Rs.60 Lakhs to construct a camping site, which was inaugurated by Nobel Laureate Dr. R.K. Pachauri on 19th August 2009. VBPSK is a nature education and interpretation centre for students, scholars and nature lovers!
